GST Calculator
Add GST to a price or strip it out of one, at any slab, and see the split into CGST and SGST for a sale within the state or IGST for one across state lines.
The slab depends on the HSN or SAC code of what is sold. This tool does not look that up; you set the slab.

How to use the GST Calculator
Pick the slab, the mode (exclusive or inclusive of GST) and the supply (intra-state for CGST + SGST, inter-state for IGST). The breakdown table at the top shows the taxable value, the tax line and the total, in the rounding you chose. The amount-in-words line uses the Indian system (lakh, crore) because that is what an invoice needs.
Multi-line mode at the bottom totals several items each with their own amount and slab, and groups the tax by rate. The Download as CSV button captures the whole invoice. This is the shape a GST invoice needs to take, with each rate appearing as its own line in the rate-wise summary.
How is GST extracted from an inclusive amount?
The right formula is taxable = inclusive × 100 / (100 + rate). A naive inclusive × rate / 100 overstates the tax. The formula on the screen shows the numbers substituted in, so the user can see which one ran. The total stays identical either way; only the labelling of the lines changes between intra-state and inter-state.
Why do intra-state and inter-state give the same total?
Because CGST and SGST are each exactly half the total GST for an intra-state supply, and IGST is the whole of it for an inter-state one. The total is identical; only the labelling changes. The tool says so in one line, so nobody thinks intra-state costs more.
What is the cess for?
Some goods carry a cess on top of GST, like the compensation cess on luxury and demerit goods. It is computed on the taxable value and shown as its own line, never folded into the GST figure. The breakdown table hides the row when the cess is zero, and shows it as “+ cess” otherwise.
